The Derby City Open, the first USCA event of 2008, will take place Saturday and Sunday, January 5-6,
in conjunction with the Derby City Classic Billiards Tournament in Louisville, KY. They are open to all players, USCA
members and nonmembers, US residents and foreign visitors.
The venue will be the Executive West Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville, 40209, where rooms can be
booked at a discounted rate. Call 1-800-626-2708 for reservations and mention the pool tournament for the
special rate. There are also rooms at the Executive Inn next door. The hotel is five minutes from the airport and there is a
free shuttle.
We will be playing two events, Open Singles on Saturday and World Series Carrom on Sunday. We will try to complete
the Singles event in one day so that everyone can participate in the WSC event. Entry fee for both events will be $40
with cash prizes paid out to the top four places in both events. If there are more than eight players in each event, groups of
eight will be formed with cash prizes paid for the top four places in Group B, Group C, etc. as well as Group A, giving
half the players a chance to win back their entry fee.
