You’re invited! The USCA Needs You!
The United States Carrom Association is working hard
to introduce international standard competition carrom to all game players
living in America.
Carrom is virtually unknown outside the South Asian community but word is
beginning to spread, especially within the world of billiards. Since January,
2006, the USCA has demonstrated or held tournaments at a dozen professional
billiards events where thousands of pool players have had their first glimpse
of the game. The reponse has been tremendous, confirming our belief that it’s
only a matter of time before carrom becomes a household word, especially now
that ESPN Star Sports has produced the first 21st century carrom TV series, the
World Series of Carrom.
You can help us spread this fabulous game by
participating in USCA tournaments, organizing local chapters, or demonstrating
at other public venues. Come join us in Valley
Forge, PA, for the
USCA Invitational Open, August 3–5, 2007. You’re hereby invitied to join us for
a weekend of fun and competition. Try out our “Swiss Round Robin” computerized
tournament format, play on world-class tournament carromboards, see premiere
screenings of the World Sereis of Carrom, and meet some of America’s top players.
Then, get ready for the US Nationals, October 6&7, in Richmond, VA,
where a new champion may be crowned.
If you don’t feel like playing, but would like to see
how our tournaments are conducted, feel free to join
us anyway and help out with logisitics, running the computer software,
hospitality, or set-up. Call Chief Organizer, Billy Stevens, at 919-321-1284 if
you’d like to lend a hand.
Please accept our invitation and join us in
introducing carrom to America.
It’s a great way to share a bit of South Asian culture with your friends and
neighbors and promises to be a hot new gaming phenomenon in the near future.
